About Me

Hi, I’m Connie. I’m a Registered Yoga Teacher and Wellness Coach with a background in psychology and behavioral health. I believe meaningful healing happens when we care for the whole person- mind, body, and emotional well-being. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. Through my training, I’ve become deeply interested in how mental health, the nervous system, and the body are interconnected. I’m especially drawn to brain-based and nervous system–informed approaches that support regulation, resilience, and long-term well-being.

My work brings together evidence-based psychology with mindfulness and yoga, creating space for clarity, balance, and sustainable growth. I work to support people in building emotional resilience and reconnecting with themselves in a way that feels grounded, compassionate, and attainable.

My Philosophy

I believe in blending evidence-based care with holistic practices, guided by curiosity, emotional intelligence, and self-compassion. I’m committed to continuous learning and thoughtful integration of psychology, mindfulness, and therapeutic care. By honoring the connection between mind and body, I create a supportive space for clarity, healing, and growth- helping individuals move toward a deeper understanding of themselves and their overall well-being.

The Body Remembers: Anxiety, the Nervous System, and Healing

Anxiety is not only experienced in the mind- it also lives in the body. One thing I continue learning through my training is how often the nervous system carries stress before we fully put words to it. Tightness in the chest, restlessness, fatigue, and shallow breathing can be early signals from the body. In many ways, the body speaks before the mind understands. This is part of why I’m drawn to mind-body practices like yoga. Slow breathing, gentle movement, and body awarenes

Anxiety in Latino Communities

Anxiety does not always present the same way across cultures. Culture plays a powerful role in how emotional distress is experienced, expressed, and understood. Culturally responsive mental health care goes beyond language translation- it requires understanding how culture shapes symptom expression, help-seeking, and what feels safe to disclose. Among many Latino individuals, anxiety may be expressed more somatically, through headaches, stomach distress, chest tightness, fati

Mental Health (Beyond Labels)

One thing I’ve been sitting with lately in my psychopathology training is this idea: Mental health doesn’t live in just one place. It’s not only in the brain. It’s not only in a diagnosis. And it’s definitely not just a checklist of symptoms. Yes, tools like the DSM exist for a reason. They help clinicians communicate, stay consistent, and make sure people can access care. But what I’m learning is that those tools are meant to support understanding, not replace it. Mental hea

The Nervous System & Women

Many women live in a body that’s working hard all the time- even when everything seems fine on the outside. The nervous system is the part of us that helps us respond to stress, rest, connection, and safety. It’s constantly gathering information from our environment and our relationships, adjusting to help us get through the day. When life continuously asks a lot of us, the nervous system learns to stay alert. This can manifest as feeling tired yet wired, having trouble relax
